During the COVID-19 pandemic, working in various healthcare settings gave me adaptability, composure, and teamwork skills. While working in a TCF, I was inspired by an exceptionally caring nurse and enrolled in a Therapy Support course at HMI Institute while awaiting the outcome of my ITE nursing application. This journey has provided me with valuable knowledge to deliver holistic care, and I am applying to NYP's Diploma in Nursing as I believe its curriculum and clinical training will equip me to become a competent and compassionate RN.
In my first and second years as a Higher Nitec in Nursing student. I have participated in school CCA and enrichment programs, and have been a member of the ITE SNA Student Chapter and the Rotaract Club. I have participated in numerous activities, such as Meals on Wheels, where I would deliver food to the elderly who are home-bound, a befriending session by interacting with the elderly and the 20th Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference Singapore 2024, where I worked as a stage management/logistics team to welcome our Rotaract Club friends worldwide.
In my Year 2, one of the modules that I have studied is Health Psychology and Sociology and having an interest in Mental Health Nursing, I have signed up as a Care Volunteer with SG Healthcare Corps, and am currently volunteering at the IMH by assisting clients with their ADLs and have an aspiration to become a RNP.

Therapy Support Trainee NTUC Health Co-operative Limited (Aug 2023 - Sep 2023)
During the 16 days of clinical attachment at the nursing home, I was attached to the female residents' level with lower cognitive abilities under the supervision and guidance of my PT, OT, and senior therapy assistant. I worked as part of a multidisciplinary team with nurses and volunteers.
I gained exposure to more equipment and its usage (Sara Stedy, platform rollator, Quasar med treadmill) and conducted rehabilitation exercises.
Circuit Training Morning video warm-up exercises, Shuttle MiniPress, shoulder/chest press, and gym exercises.
OT Group Therapy Shoulder arc, sewing, ball pass, mix and match puzzles, singing, baking, cat therapy, and outdoor picnic activities.
1 to 1 Assisted Active/Passive Range of Motion (AAROM/PROM), sit-to-stand (STS), and distance walk test exercises.
I also observed how PT and OT conducted CGT for the resident's helper.

Deployed and managed the micro/private Quick Test Centre across 10 locations island-wide in hotels, shopping malls, and HDB void decks for VTL Travellers to conduct a supervised self-administered Antigen Rapid Test (ART), Pre-Event Testing, Weekly Rostered Routine Testing, Community ART, Pre-Depature ART/PCR Test.
Registering clients through the Swab Registration System, Plato Medical, Patient Risk Profile, and uploading test results.
Payment collection through Stripe QR code, point-of-sale terminal, and end-of-day report consolidation.

Vaccination Assistant (Admin) Fullerton Health (Dec 2021 - Mar 2022)
Observing patients' well-being, explaining the post-vaccination side effects and severe allergic reactions when patients are ready to be discharged after their 30-minute observation end time, and assisting nurses during code blue.
Registering patients, ushering patients to their respective stations, performing administrative work, dealing with members of the public, and absconding situations.
Cross-deployed to other Vaccination Centers in times of need and prevented backlogs by clinically discharging at least 450 patients in a team of 6 to 8. Up to 2600 registered and walk-in appointments daily.
